The plan for the Wales trip goes like this:
Meet at Oxford services A34/A44 junction at 6am. Take A44 west and head for Newtown (120 miles). Short break there before taking on some challenging roads on route to Aberystwyth,(70 miles) here we can have another break before some more top roads leading back to Newtown,(70 miles) were we can stop again and allow the old ticker to recover, before starting the run back to Oxford. (140 miles) I have planned in Fuel stops at no more than 100 miles apart, as long as we all fill up at Oxford there should no need for extra stops. Taking into consideration all stops and the anticipated average speed we should get back to Oxford by 4pm. It is going to be a long and very tiring day, 400 miles plus the travel to Oxford and back, for me that means setting off at 4.30am, but I did a similar run last year and it was one of the best days I've had on a bike for years. For those that are put of by the early start, trust me it is worth it to get on the best roads before the cars come out to spoil our fun. If you live to ride your bike fast on some of the best roads in the country then get your name down. As for the dates I would ask that any body intrested, choose between the 2nd and the 9th July and we will go with the most popular one.
